Why do unbelievers NOT belong in the assembly of Believers?

Believers are jointly worshiping God. The unbeliever has no place in such things. Believer meet to exhort, that is to admonish, warn, advise, caution, counsel, and instruct each other. Believer meet to learn and grow in faith and to help other believers grow in faith and encourage each other.

When the assembly meets for the purpose of teaching and exhortation and if the unregenerate is in the midst, and they speak up; they speak false doctrine. And what happens? They are allowed to express their error, and nobody corrects the error. The assembling of ourselves together as commanded in Hebrews 10:25, should be a time for Believers to grow in God's Word

Eph 4:11-15 And he gave some, apostles; and some, prophets; and some, evangelists; and some, pastors and teachers; For the perfecting of the saints, for the work of the ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ: Till we all come in the unity of the faith, and of the knowledge of the Son of God, unto a perfect man, unto the measure of the stature of the fulness of Christ: That we henceforth be no more children, tossed to and fro, and carried about with every wind of doctrine, by the sleight of men, and cunning craftiness, whereby they lie in wait to deceive; But speaking the truth in love, may grow up into him in all things, which is the head, even Christ:

What actually happens is that it becomes a time where "a little leaven leavens the whole lump". The unclean is supposed to be "purged out".

1 Cor 5:6-7 Your glorying is not good. Know ye not that a little leaven leaveneth the whole lump? Purge out therefore the old leaven, that ye may be a new lump, as ye are unleavened. For even Christ our passover is sacrificed for us:This is what Paul is talking about here.

1 Cor 5:1-2 It is reported commonly that there is fornication among you, and such fornication as is not so much as named among the Gentiles, that one should have his father's wife. And ye are puffed up, and have not rather mourned, that he that hath done this deed might be taken away from among you.

The logic that the church has been using for decades is that, "We need to bring the unsaved in, to hear the Gospel." But in church is not where they are to hear the gospel. The Gospel needs to be taken to them.

It is alright to talk with the unsaved in your place of work or wherever you may come in contact with them, but they do not belong in an assembly of believers that meet together to worship God and exhort each other.

Now the Bible says that salvation comes about from calling on the name of the Lord. So the sinner obviously needs to believe in Him, and to believe in Him they need to hear of Him and to know who He is. And how shall they hear without a preacher? So the missionary preacher needs to go to where the unsaved are, in order for them to hear.

There's the old favorite song that says, "Bring them in, bring them in..." And most churches use the song to stir people up to bring the unsaved into the church meetings. Is that what the Bible says? The ones who reach sinners are sent to preach the gospel of peace.

Rom 10:13-15 For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved. How then shall they call on him in whom they have not believed? and how shall they believe in him of whom they have not heard? and how shall they hear without a preacher? And how shall they preach, except they be sent? as it is written, How beautiful are the feet of them that preach the gospel of peace, and bring glad tidings of good things!

Until the lost are saved, they don't belong in the assembly! In the O.T. God's direction was absolutely dclear about keeping the profane out of God's presence. And they had the gatekeepers so that the unclean could not go in.

2 Chr 23:19 And he set the porters at the gates of the house of the LORD, that none which was unclean in any thing should enter in.

Preachers need to be "sent" to the lost, to bring (take) the gospel to them.

The Gospel must be taken to the lost, going to the highways and hedges to compel them to come, so that God's house may be filled. (Luke14:23) That means, going to where the lost are with God's WORD

No one can show me Scripture that says the lost are won with music, plays, movies, dance, entertainment or any other modern methods

We don't associate with the lost and give them something they will be comfortable with, and invite then to a church where they will be comfortable in.

The going to the lost is much the same as rescuing a wild horse out of a steep canyon where he fell, and can't get out. If the horse is to be "saved", you cannot call to it, and invite it into the 'barn' and entice it with oats and alfalfa. You have to go down into that canyon with ropes and straps, and connect them to a waiting helicopter to pull him out. You'll probably get muddy, smelly and dirty, pulling and pushing on him, while you get the straps around him.

You cannot do it from the barn! After all, if he's in the barn, he obviously doesn't need saving. Furthermore, you don't put some mares that are in heat in the barn to entice him to come into the barn. But this is exactly what these "Christians" are doing with their arousing, fleshly attractions to lure people into the church.

Read about some of the church programs. And if you saw the way some women dress in the assembly you would understand. It's the same kind of language God used against Israel.

Jer 13:26-27 Therefore will I discover (uncover-strip off-make naked) thy skirts upon thy face, (person- countenance-appearance)that thy shame may appear. I have seen thine adulteries, and thy neighings, the lewdness of thy whoredom, and thine abominations on the hills in the fields. Woe unto thee, O Jerusalem! wilt thou not be made clean? when shall it once be?

Well anyway, the horse is still stuck in the canyon. No matter how much he whinnies at the mares, he's still not saved. He's still stuck.

These modern church people always say, well, look at Jesus. He ate with publicans and sinners. And the Pharisees complained to Him, just like you complain to us.

But notice WHERE Jesus ministered to people. When he was eating with tax collectors and sinners, He has just asked Levi to follow Him. And He was in Levi's house. (Mark2: 14-15) When He spoke with the woman of Samaria it was necessary for Him to go to Samaria. (John 4:4) He sat in fishing boats to teach. (Matt13: 2) And He often went into the wilderness, where the crowds came to Him. (Mattt14: 13) When He called to Zaccheus, He said, "I'm coming to your house". (Luke19: 5)

JESUS WENT TO THE PEOPLE or THE PEOPLE CAME TO HIM, OUTSIDE OF THE TEMPLE.

But when it came to the temple, the place that represented God's Holy presence, you can notice that He drives the filth out. The merchants and money-changers and swindlers (Matt 21:12-13) because it was a "house of prayer".

Also, a typical argument is that since our bodies are the temple of the Lord (1Cor 6:19), the physical building (or location) no longer matters. And, to a certain extent, this is true. Jesus said:

Matt 18:20 For where two or three are gathered together in my name, there am I in the midst of them.

Where Christians are gathered for worship, exhortation, study, prayer, and whether it's a living room, garage or barn or the fancy building with the sign out front--that gathering represents the Lord's presence. It is a special time of fellowship with the Lord that the unregenerate have no part in. When Paul writes to Timothy about the workings of the Church gatherings, he has this to say about prayer:

1 Tim 2:8 I will therefore that men pray every where, lifting up holy hands, without wrath and doubting.

Now if the unregenerate are in the assembly imitating what they see, the hands they lift are not holy, are they?

If a new pastor came into an established church with this standard and tried to enforce it, most of the church would be out the door. Or he would be out the door. I don't believe anything can be done about this in the large churches the way things are now, considering that close to90% of people in the large churches are unregenerate, anyway. This kind of separation will likely only be possible in the small groups.

Home churches--groups meeting in remodeled garages, barn lofts and basements. Maybe this is why we don't see any "mega-churches" in the N.T.? It was always the church in so-n-so's home.

1 Cor 16:19 The churches of Asia salute you. Aquila and Priscilla salute you much in the Lord, with the church that is in their house.

Acts 2:46 And they, continuing daily with one accord in the temple, and breaking bread from house to house, did eat their meat with gladness and singleness of heart,

Acts 12:12 And when he had considered the thing, he came to the house of Mary the mother of John, whose surname was Mark; where many were gathered together praying.

Throughout the past centuries the mainline religion, that is, the Roman Catholic Church, was apostate, (heretic-non-believer) and then the Protestants branched off from them and continued the apostasy forming denominations and associations.

The Roman church calls it's pastors father and they call the chief man Holy Father while the Protestants call their pastors Reverend. (Worthy of reverence-esteem-honor-idolize-homage-adoration)

Meanwhile the faithful remnant of believers of whom the world was not worthy met in homes, caves, and forests.

Heb 11:38 Of whom the world was not worthy:) they wandered in deserts, and in mountains, and in dens and caves of the earth.

The so called christian world does not look upon those that hold fast to the faith once delivered to the saints (Jude 1:3) as holy or reverend. We are intolerant legalistic bigots. That is narrow-minded fanatics and extremists.

This is happening more and more frequently today. The remnant is coming out of the apostate assemblies as we grow nearer to the end time.
