The Graduation of Error to Tolerance, to Commonplace, to Acceptance and
Participation
Pierced noses.You remember
the "heathen" in Africa that done this don't you?You've
heard of the "heathen" in Africa wearing 'lip discs" to enlarge the lips,
right?Why, this is a repulsive heathen practice.Right? Why does America and the European nations regard this as a
"heathen" practice?Is it because the
"civilized" nations were not accustomed to this practice? Yes--I
believe this is the reason why.Anything "strange" is
not accepted very well UNTIL the practice becomes taken up by more and
more of the populace, and then it becomes "common"."Common practice" is accepted as the "norm " of society and
even among Christians.RIGHT!I am
not asking a question here, I'm stating a FACT.
Look
how long the world has been accustomed to "pierced ears".This is an "everyday thing".No animosity here,
I reckon.No surprisingly, unacceptable practice here
folks.Why, almost everybody does it.Even
infants ears are pierced. The "civilized nations" look on this as a thing
of beauty, along with face makeup.
I use
pierced ears as an example of things that are tolerated, which are soon
normalized and accepted, and then finally blended in with so-called
Christianity. Just as short hair on women and long hair on men were once "taboo"
in the churches, but as the "public" became accustomed to the practice, this was
"normalized "or "standardized" by society and soon after permeated the "church"
and became the norm in many of them.
So-I
just imagine the African "heathen" look upon their customs as a thing of
beauty or social standing, the same as we do our customs.Are
we to say that women with pierced ears are "uncivilized
heathen”?
The
men are now into pierced ears and the world is getting used to this
practice.This is becoming the "norm”.It will soon no longer be "unusual". This is becoming accepted as
a "normal custom".
How
'bout pierced navels, noses and tongues?This will soon be
accepted as the "norm".I KNOW.ANYTHING done often enough, and by enough of the masses will be
accepted by society, and before long, accepted into the churches. This sort of
practice always has.We have history to verify
this.
Why
is it a shame to have and display a jeweled navel?Haven't
women been disobeying God in massive numbers since the "Roaring Twenties"
by displaying their navels in public places?Is it okay to
display the navel "on the beach"?If "on the
beach" is acceptable, why not in the grocery store?Why
not "in church"? Does God give us certain "places" in which we can
disobey Him? (this is a nice term for SIN)
[The
act of piercing the navel is not my reason for calling this sin.It is the "displaying" of the navel that is sinful.Will a person jewel a navel only to keep it hidden?]
I
speak of God here because this applies to MANY Christians.To many Christians, or professing Christians, the ways of the world are
the norm in the Christian life.What may offend them now will
soon be accepted just as soon as the world "standardizes" the
practice.The world always standardizes sin, and the
spiritual, (for want of a better word-I hesitate to use the word Christian)
always go along with it.Take homosexuality (that's biblical
Sodomy) for instance. (some of us won't take it even for that long).The world is being accustomed to this abomination.When they were "in the closet", the world looked with disfavor on
this practice.But the world, with the help of the
government, and especially "America's government”, (the Clinton
administration did more to advance the sodomite cause than any other body in
past history with the "hate crimes" bill and many other programs.) is again
standardizing a sinful practice.
Of course, this sort of practice can be expected of the government, but
folks--the "churches" are going along with this.In many cases they are even taking the lead.God
help us.
It's got to the zenith, or high point of
apostasy in the modern day churches, that sin, when standardized by "the
world" is accepted and embraced by "the churches".Take divorce, for instance.I can't take it, but
the churches can take it or leave it, ignore it and embrace it, and many
preachers set an example of approving it, and participating (getting divorces
themselves) in this sinful practice.
Folks, the churches are going to the dogs.The remnant
in them is being culled, (collected-assembled) and we are discovering by the
number of those "coming out from among them" that the remnant spoken of
in Rom 11:2-5 is minimal. This minimal remnant is getting smaller and smaller as
the apostasy progresses.Some folks may think that I am
excessively exaggerating the present situation, but even Jesus wondered
somewhat, if there would be any "born again people" to meet Him in the
air when He comes again.
Luke
18:8 I tell you that he will avenge them speedily. Nevertheless when the Son of
man cometh, shall he find faith on the earth?
Shall
He find faith on the earth? The question implies that faith will be scarce. Our
Lord's words do not predict a general improvement in the " biblical"
spiritual condition of the world before his coming.
As a
matter of fact the Lord predicts a falling away rather than a mass
"biblical" spiritual revival.
II Th
2:3 Let no man deceive you by any means: for that day shall not come, except
there come a falling away first, and that man of sin be revealed, the son of
perdition;
There
is to be a spiritual state of being, but it will not be even close to
biblical.
John
16:2-3 They shall put you out of the synagogues: yea, the time cometh, that
whosoever killeth you will think that he doeth God service. And these things
will they do unto you, because they have not known the Father, nor
me.
Just as the Roman Catholic Church persecuted Christians when she was in
power, because the true Christians refused to follow "their" Christ; even
so, in the near future, true Christians will be persecuted because they refuse
to follow the "world's christ", which will be the
"anti-christ."
As
the Roman Church thought they were doing God service, so will the ecumenical
churches think.
There
are many ministers that preach biblical deception which are thinking that they
do God service by incorporating the methods of the world into the biblical
commands. Christ needs help, they reason. His methods are changeable even though
He is not. They are headstrong and will not bow to the authority of
Christ.They desire to have the preeminence and have no
"light" in them.
They
are in spiritual darkness.The blind leading the
blind.The blind teaching the ignorant. This is the main
reason for the falling away.The blind are blind because they
refuse to give the preeminence to Christ, and the ignorant sit under these blind
teachers and become deceived because they refuse to STUDY GOD'S WORD FOR
THEMSELVES.
They do not study to show themselves approved unto God
and to discern Truth from Error. (rightly divide the Word of truth.-2 Tim
2:15)
The True Scripture must remain pure and unadulterated because in the
scripture is to be found the eternal salvation so eagerly sought after by so
many.A scripture deluded is not the "gospel and
doctrine" of Christ. It is a "man made" testament.It is the "New Testament" of the "New World
Order".
This
testament speaks of "another God" and "another Christ" and
"another gospel".This is the testament that presents
the gospel of the Anti-Christ.
This
was foretold long ago.We are not to believe this gospel, but
it is heartbreaking that so many do.
2 Cor
11:4 For if he that cometh preacheth another Jesus, whom we have not preached,
or if ye receive another spirit, which ye have not received, or another gospel,
which ye have not accepted, ye might well bear with him.
Gal 1:6-9 I marvel that ye are so soon removed from him that called you
into the grace of Christ unto another gospel: Which is not another; but there be
some that trouble you, and would pervert the gospel of Christ. But though we, or
an angel from heaven, preach any other gospel unto you than that which we have
preached unto you, let him be accursed. As we said before, so say I now again,
If any man preach any other gospel unto you than that ye have received, let him
be accursed.
The apostle
Paul was a very zealous defender of the pure and unadulterated gospel. If an
ANGEL FROM HEAVEN should preach another gospel, he says let that angel be
damned. (condemned)Does an angel from heaven have alluring
qualities?If we are not to listen to even an erring angel
from heaven if that be possible, why listen to such "men" as Billy
Graham, C. Peter Wagner, Jay Gary, Rick Joyner and a host of others?
The
unadulterated scripture has this power. 2 Tim 3:15-16 And
that from a child thou hast known the holy scriptures, which are able to make
thee wise unto salvation through faith which is in Christ Jesus. All scripture
is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for
correction, for instruction in righteousness:
The
unadulterated scripture has the "Holy Ghost" for the "author" and "holy men of
God" as "scribes". 2 Pet 1:20-2:2 Knowing this first, that no
prophecy of the scripture is of any private interpretation. For the prophecy
came not in old time by the will of man: but holy men of God spake as they were
moved by the Holy Ghost.
Read
this carefully. 2 Pet 2:1-2 But there were false prophets
also among the people, even as there shall be false teachers among you, who
privily shall bring in damnable heresies, even denying the Lord that bought
them, and bring upon themselves swift destruction. And many shall follow their
pernicious ways; by reason of whom the way of truth shall be evil spoken
of.
We are not
to merely look "out yonder" for false teachers.We are
to look "amongus".Are we in
church?They are among us.They are not
"out there".They are "among us", and
MANY shall follow them in the broad way, and FEW will find the
narrow way. (Matt 7:13-14)
NOW BACK
TO JEWELRY. Jewelry is not a sin if not done in excess. Over eating, and over drinking and over "anything" is
sin.
Here are a few tid-bits of info about
jewelry from the Bible.
Jewelry
and nice clothing can become a god.It is not to be worn in a
proud unladylike (ungodly like) manner
Isa 3:16-24 Moreover the LORD saith, Because the
daughters of Zion are haughty (arrogantly proud), and walk with stretched forth
necks and wanton (flirty-teasing) eyes, walking and mincing (an unnatural
walk-wiggle) as they go, and making a tinkling with their feet: Therefore the
LORD will smite with a scab the crown of the head (baldness) of the daughters of
Zion, and the LORD will discover (make naked-uncover) their secret parts.
(genitals-private parts -put them to shame) In that day the Lord will take away
the bravery (beauty) of their tinkling ornaments about their feet, and their
cauls, (hair netting) and their round tires like the moon, (ornamental disc) The
chains, and the bracelets, and the mufflers,(long veil) The bonnets, and the
ornaments of the legs, and the headbands, and the tablets, and the earrings, The
rings, and nose jewels, The changeable suits of apparel, and the mantles,(cloak)
and the wimples,(a wide cloak) and the crisping pins,(hair pins) The glasses,
and the fine linen, and the hoods, and the vails. And it shall come to pass,
that instead of sweet smell there shall be stink; and instead of a girdle a
rent; (unsightly rope to tie around the waist) and instead of well set hair
baldness; and instead of a stomacher (to improve the figure) a girding (girdle)
of sackcloth; grain bag-coarse loose clothing) and burning (blistered-scarred
skin) instead of beauty.
The
following are the gifts that the Egyptians gave the Israelites as they left
Egypt, and evidently "men' were wearing them too. Exod 32:2 And Aaron said unto them, Break off the
golden earrings, which are in the ears of your wives, of your sons, and of your
daughters, and bring them unto me.
Exod
3:20-22 And I will stretch out my hand, and smite Egypt with all my wonders
which I will do in the midst thereof: and after that he will let you go. And I
will give this people favour in the sight of the Egyptians: and it shall come to
pass, that, when ye go, ye shall not go empty: But every woman shall borrow of
her neighbour, and of her that sojourneth in her house, jewels of silver, and
jewels of gold, and raiment: and ye shall put them upon your sons, and upon your
daughters; and ye shall spoil the Egyptians.
The Lord
wanted the jewelry to decorate the Temple Altar. Exod 35:22 And they came, both men and women, as many
as were willing hearted, and brought bracelets, and earrings, and rings, and
tablets, all jewels of gold: and every man that offered, offered an offering of
gold unto the LORD.
These
are spoils of war that the Israelis got as they conquered nations. Num 31:50 We have therefore brought an oblation for the LORD, what
every man hath gotten, of jewels of gold, chains, and bracelets, rings,
earrings, and tablets, to make an atonement for our souls before the LORD.
They were
to offer these things from a WILLING HEART.
Exod 35:5 Take ye from
among you an offering unto the LORD: whosoever is of a willing heart, let him
bring it, an offering of the LORD; gold, and silver, and
brass.
